First off, I am so proud of myself...I actually met the goal I set for January. Five, count 'em FIVE Baltimore blocks completed this month and it's not even midnight! Can I maintain the 4-5 block a month momentum for February? Wait and see.
I had to pull out my Valentine's day pincushion. It's a cute little felted wool heart. Don't you just love it?
I'm glad because I've got another one to send to one lucky person who posts a comment on this post. Tell me what you're making for Valentine's Day. It can be quilty, something baked, something crafty. And feel free to include a link to a photo. This giveaway will close at midnight EST on February 7th and I'll draw a winner on the 8th and get this in the mail to you in time for you to have it on your sewing table on the 14th.
And......if the winner happens to be a follower of my blog, I'll also include a little scissor/rotary cutter bling as a follower appreciation bonus.
Can't wait to hear what you're all up to. I'm off to spend the rest of this night prepping February Baltimore blocks, and tomorrow I hope to finish the wonky pieced rag quilt. Stay tuned!
Great job with your blocks! I love the pincushion~ very cute! I'm a happy follower too. :-) I haven't even thought about what to make for Valentine's yet. Last year I made my DD a fun pillowcase in a Valentine print. Maybe I should make her another... ;-) Have a happy rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI have a commitment to mail - via slow mail - something everyday in February. So I have cut little valentines things that I am making into cards. Sorry no pics yet. Thanks for a chance to win your beautiful heart pincushion. And wow! Fabulous work on the Baltimore blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love the felted heart! Did you make them yourself??
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I'll be sewing for Valentine's Day but I'll certainly be cooking - it's our 25th wedding anniversary this year so we're celebrating all year!
I'm a happy follower of course!
Congratulations on meeting your January goal. Your Baltimore Album blocks are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe pin cushion is so cute! I love the heart. I have no specific plans for Valentine's Day - yet. My goal for 2012 is learning applique so I'm thinking a small wall hanging with pinks and reds.
Happy quilting.
Susan congratulations on accomplishing your goal! "The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul" I am in love ( pun intended) with the pincushion! I just bought a bunch of wool sweaters at the resale shop so I can try my hand at felting. For Valentines Day- I am particpating in the CTTM card Swap and making the cards. I am also assisting my niece and nephews with valentines- They made a list of who they wanted to send them to and we have 72 valentines to make! On the sewing front- I am making "goofy bags" but those are not for Valentines day. Ps I am a blog follower!
ReplyDeleteSusan glad you're back, missed you. The new blocks are lookin' great! I'm thinking I'll make some chocolate cookies, or sew a make-up bag. Even better finish a 34 year old heart wallhanging. I'm a long time follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteaaaaahh No !!! Not a 34 year old project.(Yikes) It is only a 4 year old project. Now I know I've got to get that wall-hanging done!
ReplyDeleteI am not making anything special for Valentine's Day but I am waiting for it cause the restaurant here in N. Georgia has a special for couples married over 50 years and I am planning to eat out on Valentine's day. We ate there last year. I have been a follower of your site for a couple years. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'll be making two sets of preschooler valentines, once I can get my boys to settle on something. They will be helping, which will likely make the process a bit longer! ;)
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is my anniversary, (45 years) so I'm not planning on making anything, but I'm hoping to go out for a meal instead. My DH is about the most unromantic man in the whole world though, so I'm not holding my breath.
